Solo Traveller

One of the most memorable events in Athens.
Had an amazing time! Had a blast listening to live, traditional Greek music, seeing the lively singer perform and most of all watching the dancers perform. In particular, the men’s performance was incredible and even mesmerizing at times! You gotta see the knife dance and watch the glass balancing act! Sit towards the front if you can because then you can really be a part of the action. My favorite part was when the dancers called on people from the audience to go on stage. I danced with the singer and one of the male dancers also. I felt like I was part of the show! I felt so joyous and welcomed! The performers seemed just as happy as I was to see me having fun on stage. Even if you aren’t like me (I jump up and dance when I get the opportunity to do so) still just GO for this event! You won’t regret it.

While the show itself is family friendly, I didn’t see any children in the audience. Since it is quite loud, I wouldn’t recommend this event for families with small children. There is wine at the table and unlike the US, no one is checking IDs. So if this is a concern, perhaps this show isn’t recommendable for children under drinking age either, even if they are older. This event is suitable, however, for solo adult travelers because you easily meet people in your tour group. It’s also great for couples and families with adult family members.

I think this event is a good value because the tour company includes transportation to and from the event, it includes dinner + house wines and water and the amazing show also. The dinner is plenty. You get appetizers, bread, a main dish and dessert. As I recall, you have a choice of pork or chicken. I chose chicken. If you are vegetarian, I suggest informing the tour company ahead of time so they can inform the restaurant. There was a group of 5 vegetarians on our tour and the restaurant was able to accommodate them. Nevertheless, prior to arriving at the restaurant our tour guide wasn’t really sure if vegetarian dishes could be accommodated or not. So better to not to leave dinner to chance and instead, inform Viator early just to be safe if you are vegetarian or perhaps have other dietary restrictions. I think the group on our bus maybe got lucky. Not sure.

This was my first Viator activity but second time attending this particular event since I enjoyed it so much. It was completely worth it and a true highlight of my vacation.

Our friends had arranged this for us.

The ‘tour’ was led by a very rude guide, distinct lack of knowledge, and had a problem with the British, no mention of other more recent nationalities.

The show was well underway when we arrived, most of the audience then left.

The staff were also very rude, almost throwing the plates at us.

The musicians, singers, and dancers were very good and deserve better than this bunch.

It’s not a walking tour, it’s a dinner with poorly seasoned, bad food and a greek show with pick up. The tour itself wasn’t engaging, and many landmarks were barely mentioned, with only a single stop near the theatre. The “night tour” is not really at night, but more like before sundown. You do not actually get to see acropolis at night, which is very disappointing. It is much better to check out the places individually by yourself. The show during dinner was very entertaining with many talented dancers and musicians, but that is the only thing that could be considered worth your time.
I was very disappointed!

This experience was a surprise for my wife, and it was completely disappointing. From they don’t pick up at our hotel so we had to walk somewhere else, to being two hours late due to a protest, to the food being terrible and them not having vegetarian option for me though I emailed three times to ensure that there would be, to smashing us in together during Covid like we were sardines on a table. No masks not even 2 inches between seats. I was embarrassed, it was the most terrible experience fire entire three weeks in Greece. The woman shook her breasts, and I think that was supposed to be the highlight of the show. It was not. Maria, our guide, said that she could not take us to the panoramic view of Athens because of the protest. No compensation was made for the deficiencies. No one could avoid them. But the tour company is responsible. We ended up walking home instead of going with the bus because they were so ill prepared and it unorganized
